West is the first company in the world to be designated a Cisco Powered Cisco Spark Service Provider (SP). The accreditation is part of Cisco’s Cloud and Managed Services Program (CMSP) and it’s earned through an extensive audit that includes adherence to policy requirements, an established customer success practice, a productized bundle of Cisco-based cloud offerings and more. West delivered on all levels and earned the certification in late 2017.
It caps off several other accomplishments that include:
- Being named by Cisco as the Service Provider of the Year (Americas)
- Achieving our Gold Partner and Master Collaboration Specialization renewals as well as the Cloud and Managed Services Master (Worldwide)
- Earning a Leader position in Gartner's 2017 UCaaS Magic Quadrant for 6th year in a row
Additionally, West recently achieved multiple Cisco Powered Service certifications:
- Cisco Powered Managed Business Communications
- Cisco Powered UC as a Service Based on HCS
- Cisco Powered Contact Center as a Service Based on HCS

Spark and Spark Flex are fueling a heightened interest in cloud collaboration, with hundreds of thousands of workers around the globe already leveraging Spark through West. Companies with outdated Cisco Unified Call Manager systems have been especially interested in upgrading to VoiceMaxx CE with Spark Flex.
One example comes from a popular retailer that was facing end of life/end of support for their corporate Cisco Unified Call Manager system. The large, global organization wanted to prioritize rollout of VoiceMaxx CE for the impacted locations while continuing to receive support and services for the retail stores that were on newer versions of CUCM.
West met these needs with Spark Flex, and included CCA, WebEx and Spark services as well. The company was able to modernize communications in the cloud while leveraging the existing investments in onsite equpiment that they'd made previously. They appreciate the freedom cloud-based UC technology affords, both in terms of IT time saved and the opex pricing model and when the time is right, the retail locations will also move to the cloud. Until then, all locations around the world can still be united under a single service, with one contract and 24/7 support from West.
